Our Organization

The Cultural Heritage Organization (CHO) is a non-governmental and nonprofit organization that undertakes interdisciplinary Research & Development (R&D), publications, education, capacity building, and community engagement in digital heritage. CHO uses state-of-art digital technologies like Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) to develop emotional and engaging experiences with historic places, events, people, and stories and create narrative and empathy-eliciting spaces (virtual or mixed).

Partners

CHO is a partner of the Nahrein Network, a collaboration project between the University College London (UCL), the British Museum, CHO, and the Kurdistan Institution for Strategic Studies & Scientific Research (KISSR).CHO has and continues to conduct collaborative research and non-research projects and activities with a growing number of prestigious local and international partners and collaborators. CHO’s main office is located in the city of Sulaimani, the Cultural Capital of the Kurdistan Region, and a UNESCO Creative City of Literature.
